Celebrated international player, Lisa Sthalekar, has enjoyed the peak of women's international cricket which has seen her achieve many world firsts. These include being the first woman appointed as an International Cricket Council Ambassador; the first woman to score 1000 runs and to take 100 wickets in one-day international matches; and the first woman appointed as a Board Member of the Australian Cricketer's Association.
Lisa's thirst for modernisation of cricket and a drive to see greater fan and business engagement, coupled with a desire to see more social benefits flowing from the game given her life's journey, led to her suggesting the concept of WICL to business partner, Shaun Martyn.
WICL is now another first for Lisa and a significant step towards renewed innovation in the game of cricket.
Lisa's international cricketing experience provides a unique perspective into how sport and business can drive positive and inspiring change, thereby creating a dynamic new recipe for women's cricket, including an important focus on socially responsible initiatives.
Combined with Shaun's international sports and event management expertise, and the support of their team of business, sports and technology advisers, Lisa and Shaun are directing the launch of WICL as a new Gold Standard in women's international cricket.
